Micro-Vineyard & Garage Wine: The Emergence of a New Terroir
At Mas des Figues , history is written in the land. True to our quest for authenticity at the foot of the Alpilles, we are embarking on an exciting new chapter: the birth of an artisanal organic vineyard , a micro-plot nestled on the ancient Via Domitia road in the commune of Saint Rémy de Provence.
The "Garage Wine" Spirit: Haute Couture of the Vine
Far from industrial agriculture, we have chosen the philosophy of "Garage Wine" . This term, which appeared ironically in the 90s, now designates excellence: wines produced in confidential quantities on tiny plots of land, where each vine is cared for like a work of art.
Our approach is that of a Micro-Cru :
Ultra-limited surface area: For total quality control.
Precision viticulture: Systematic manual leaf removal for optimal sun exposure and green harvesting to concentrate all the strength of the terroir in a few exceptional bunches.
Micro-vinification: A meticulous process in small vats and barrels, allowing the production of dense, complex and spectacular wines.
A Characterful Assembly
On this preserved land, we have carefully selected grape varieties that sing of Provence and excellence:
Cabernet Sauvignon & Syrah: For structure and elegance.
Mourvèdre & Grenache Noir: For power and sunshine.
Counoise: This rare grape variety brings a touch of spice and history.
A Project of Time and Respect (FR-BIO-10)
This vineyard is a long-term commitment. Cultivated without synthetic chemicals, our young vines take the time to root deeply in the Alpilles soil, drawing its essence from it. It will take several years of patience before these vines yield their first harvest.
That is our entire ambition: to showcase the unique terroir ofSaint-Rémy-de-Provence through a production that respects nature, faithful to the identity of the Mas and to the spirit of "Garden to Glass" .
